Man electrocuted in UP temple

A 24-year-old man was electrocuted today when he was taking a 'parikrama' of the Pashupatinath temple on the occasion of 'Mahashivratri' here, police said.

Saurabh Maurya was electrocuted after he accidentally touched a live wire. He was rushed to a hospital where he died of burn injuries, they said.

Massive lighting and decoration has been done in the temple for Shivratri and the victim seems to have accidental touched a wire that might have been left exposed, police said.

SP City Sameer Saurabh said the body has been handed over to the family and the matter is being probed.
