Man electrocuted to death, 4 cops injured in subsequent clash

A man was today electrocuted to death while repairing electricity line here following which four policemen and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) were injured in a clash between security officials and locals, police said.

The incident took place Kaneri Bazar in Phulpur area when Keshav Yadav, a contractual employee of Power Department, got electrocuted while repairing electricity line. Subsequently, locals blocked roads demanding compensation, police said.

When the police tried to clear the road using force, villagers clashed with them and resorted to brick batting injuring Cricle officer of Phulpur SK Singh, SDM Babulal and Officer Incharge of Phulpur police station Tejbahadur Singh besides other policemen, they said.
 

Later, heavy police force was deployed and situation was brought under control, they added.
