Man evading arrest for five years held in Jammu

A man wanted in a case of rioting here was apprehended after evading arrest for the last five years, police said today.

The accused, Mohmmad Bika, a resident of Bishnah area in the Jammu district, was arrested last night and produced in a court today, a police official said.

He was booked in a case lodged in 2012 under sections 353 (assault), 336(endangering personal safety of others) and 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon) of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) at the Bishnah police station, he said, adding Bika had been on the run since then.
