Man facing sedition charge in Punjab held in Haryana

Haryana police today claimed to have arrested a person here who had been charged with sedition for allegedly organising 'Sarbat Khalsa' in Punjab.

The accused Paramjit Singh, a resident of Jajani village at Majitha in Punjab had left the state after police had registered case of sedition against him along with others last month, police said here.

Punjab police had slapped sedition charge against 20 persons for organising 'Sarbat Khalsa' (a grand assembly of Sikhs) on November 10 where "anti-national" speeches were allegedly made.

Uchana police in Jind arrested Paramjit from a factory here, they said, adding that Amritsar police has been informed about it.
