A man fell to death in Baramulla district of Kashmir today as he plunged into a gorge while running away from a bear.
"Manzoor Ahmad Awan, while grazing his cattle in a forest in Boniyar area of Baramulla, was attacked by a bear. He ran for his life but fell into a gorge," a police spokesman said.
Awan was rescued by locals in a critical condition and taken to a local hospital. However, the doctors declared him 'dead on arrival', the spokesman added.
