A man allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl and then killed her with the help of his father in outer Delhi's Nihal Vihar following which the accused duo were arrested on Monday, police said.
The accused, identified as Rajender (21) and his father Ram Saran (51), are residents of the same locality as the minor, they said.
The body of the girl, reported missing on February 9 from Nihal Vihar, was found dumped near a park with her limbs tied with a rope on Sunday, police said.
A case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, a senior police officer said.
The accused, Rajender, had lured the child to his home by offering chips and then sexually assaulted her, Seju Kuruvilla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) said.
Later, she was killed and her body dumped near a park in the locality, he said.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a notice to the police in connection with the incident and demanded that the culprits be hanged.
"Issued Notice 2 Police on Nihal Vihar case. Sought reason y police didnt look 4 girl despite missing report being filed, CCTV footage of PS on night of rape, details of ongoing cases on arrested accused. Have requested police protection for the family. Culprits should be hanged! (sic)," DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal tweeted.
