The body of the deceased identified as Jagdish Prasad Pandey, who arrived here from Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand a few days back, was found lying near Delhi Gate last night, a senior police official said.
Police reached the spot, after receiving a call in the control room, and took Pandey to Lok Nayak Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, the official said.
It seems to be a hit-and-run case as there were several injury marks on his body, he said.
Ruling out robbery as a motive behind the death, he said that Pandey's bag, which had some documents and money, was recovered from near the body.
