A man was sentenced to ten years imprisonment by a local court for kidnapping and raping a 12-year-old girl here.
Additional District and Sessions judge Amit Kumar Sirohi yesterday sentenced Surendra Kumar Bisht to ten years in jail after holding him guilty of abducting and raping the girl when she was on her way back from school.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on the convict.
Bisht had kidnapped the girl from Clementown area here last year when she was on her way back from school and raped her in a nearby forest.
The girl was later recovered in an unconscious state from the forest.
