A local court has sentenced a man to ten-year rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl here in early 2012.
Kallu alias Karim Khan was convicted under IPC Section 376 (rape) by Additional Sessions Judge V N Tambi, who also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on him, yesterday.
The 25-year-old convict, who is married, is a resident of Nazuk Nagar area in the city.
The nine-year-old victim was his neighbour and she was sexually assaulted by Khan on January 31, 2012 near a brick kiln, according to the prosecution.
