Man gets 5-yr RI for circulating fake currency notes

A person was awarded five years' rigorous imprisonment by a court here for circulating 20 fake currency notes.

Second Additional District and Sessions Judge R S Bisen yesterday awarded the sentence to Mohan Dangi of Lasudia Maharaj village in Biora town.

On July 3, 2014, Dangi had circulated 20 fake notes of face value of Rs 500 each in Biora market, Assistant Public Prosecutor Dinesh Sahu said today.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Dangi in this regard.

The sentence was awarded under sections 489 (A, B, C) of IPC, Sahu added.
