Man gets 7-year jail for abducting, attempting to rape minor

A fast track court today sentenced a man to seven years in jail for abducting a minor girl here and attempting to rape her.

Judge Poonam Rajput also imposed a fine of Rs 21,000 on Sher Khan after holding guilty under various IPC sections, government lawyer Ritu Choudhary said.

The 16-year-old girl was abducted on August 11, 2012 by Sher Khan and his father Intezar. They confined her in their house and attempted to rape her but the girl managed to escape.

The court also issued non-bailable warrant against Intezar, who has not appeared in the court.
