Man gets death sentence in rape and murder case of a teacher

A local court today awarded death sentence to a man and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him after finding him guilty in a case of rape and murder of a woman teacher five years ago.

The Fast Track Court-I judge Ram Padarath passed the order awarding Yusuf Ansari the death sentence after finding him guilty of the charge under section 302 of IPC for the murder of a woman teacher.

The judge also found him guilty of rape separately and awarded him a lifer, besides ordering him to seven years imprisonment and slapping a fine of Rs 20,000 for attempting to destroy evidence.
 

Ansari, a teacher of a primary Urdu school had raped a woman teacher of a Urdu girls school at Kudhiya village of Bhojpur district of Bihar on September 21, 2008, before murdering her and dumping her body on the roadside in another village to destroy evidence.

The victim's kin had lodged a case against Ansari, who was arrested and tried for rape and murder by the court leading to his conviction.
