A man was today sentenced to five life imprisonment terms by a Mahila court here for murdering five women in 2009.
The Mahila court and district judge M Sambasivam said the sentences would run consecutively one after the other.
The Judge also sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment for raping one woman before murdering her and slapped a fine of Rs 11,000 on him and said he would have to undergo an additional six months imprisonment if he failed to pay the amount.
Kuppusamy had murdered five women after robbing them at different places and times in this district in 2009.
Kuppusamy was arrested in 2009.
