A 48-year old man was seriously injured in an explosion that occurred when he set alight a pile of garbage here today, police said.
Kanagaraj set fire to the garbage that had gathered in the street in front of his house when the explosion occurred with a deafening noise, instantly spewing flames on his body.
He suffered burn injuries and had been hospitalised.
Police said they were investigating into the cause of the blast.
