Man gets life imprisonment for murdering 9-year-old-boy

The Kendrapara District and Sessions Judge today sentenced a 25-year-old man to life imprisonment for murdering a nine-year-old-boy.

The district and session judge Bijaya Ketan Mohanty convicted the assailant Bidur Baral under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code and pronounced him guilty of commission of the murder.

Besides, the court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict under section 449 (House- trespass) in order to commit offence.

The convict brutally axed to death the child while the victim was playing hide and seek game on the backyard of his house. Family dispute was the principal motive behind the murder.
 

The court pronounced the verdict on circumstantial evidence and cross-examination of six witnesses in the case.

The gruesome murder of Kanha Baral in Brajarajpur village under Rajnagar police station jurisdiction on June 24, 2011 had sparked off public outrage.
