A 53-year-old man was awarded life imprisonment by a local court here today after it found him guilty of raping his two minor daughters for six months.
Additional Sessions Judge Rajesh Kumar Gupta sent Sheikh Ahmed to prison for life after convicting him under Section 376 (rape) and other sections of Indian Penal Code.
"The court observed that Ahmed should breathe his last in prison. The prosecution produced nine witnesses to prove its point," government lawyer Santosh Chourasia told reporters.
He said that Ahmed had even tried to dodge the court during trial claiming that he was 64 which was proved wrong after examination of his documents which put his age at 53 years.
Advocate Chourasia said that Ahmed, was convicted for threatening and raping his two daughters aged 11 and 12 years old for six months.
He said that Ahmed's daughters kept quiet due to fear for a long time but managed to gather courage one day and narrate their ordeal to their mother.
She lodged a complaint with the police against Ahmed on December 26, 2013.
