An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped multiple times by a man, whose wife had found the minor at a railway station and brought her home in Behlana village here a few days ago, police said today.
Blister Singh raped the girl several times over the last few days after his wife went to sleep. He threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it, police said.
The matter came to light on June 6, when the victim sought help from a passersby who informed the child helpline, following which Singh was arrested and a case registered against him under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act, they said.
The girl, from Motihari in Bihar, was living with her aunt in Patna following the death of her parents. Her relatives allegedly ill-treated her. One day, she ran away from her aunt's house and reached Chandigarh by a train where Bimla found her and took her home, they said.
