A Nevada jury has found a former Las Vegas Strip performer guilty of second-degree murder in the 2010 strangulation death and dismemberment of his dancer ex-girlfriend.

Jason Omar Griffith sat motionless as the verdict was read yesterday in Clark County District Court. His defense attorney, Jeff Banks, reached to him and placed his arm around Griffith's shoulders.

Griffith had faced a first-degree murder charge for killing Deborah Flores Narvaez during an argument at his home. He told the jury it was self-defense.

Prosecutors say Griffith wanted Flores dead because she stood in the way of his romance with another woman.

The nine-day trial featured lurid testimony about violence between Flores and Griffith, his ongoing relationships with several women while she sought exclusivity, and the dismemberment of her corpse before it was found in tubs of cement.
