A woman was allegedly shot
dead by her husband in a running train after she deposed against him in a family court here in Ara district today.
Superintendent of Police Parvez Akhtar said accused Kamlesh Chaudhary fired thrice from a pistol at his wife Rekha Devi (40) while they were travelling in a train near Gadhani Halt under Charpokhri police station in Bhojpur district.
The incident occurred when she was going home from a family court at Ara where she deposed against him in case of harassment that she had filed earlier.
The accused fled after shooting his wife to death, Akhtar said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and raids are being carried out to arrest the culprit.
