In a bizarre incident, a man killed his elder brother with an axeat Nankhari in Shimla district, 135 km from here, police said.
Following an altercation between the two, younger brother Mukesh (24) allegedly attacked his elder brother Sunil (32) with an axe and killed him in the presence of two minor children of the deceased, they said.
The horrified children ran away from the spot, police said.
After the youngsters told villagers about the incident, ward panch informed the police, which arrested the accused and recovered the weapon from him, they police officials said.
Mukesh had mutilated the body of Sunil beyond recognition, they said.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress, Nankhari police station in-charge Chintamani said.
