A man today allegedly hacked his wife to death over a property-related dispute in Gonda district, police said here.
Vijay Bahadur Verma attacked his 35-year-old wife Kajal with a sharp-edged weapon and killed her in Mada village in Chapiya area, a police spokesperson said.
According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that Verma sold five bigha land without informing his wife, leading to dispute between the couple.
A case has been registered and efforts were on to nab the accused, it said.
