A man was arrested and 369 cartons of illegal liquor, worth Rs 25 lakh, smuggled from Haryana were seized at Yamuna bridge checkpost in Kairana of Shamli district, police said today.
Police last evening intercepted a truck during the checking drive on highway and seized 369 cartons of illegal liquor which was being smuggled to Uttar Pradesh from neighbouring Haryana, they said.
The liquor was hidden inside the truck, police said.
Hanuman was arrested in connection with the seizure, they said.
A case was registered in the matter and a probe is underway in it, police added.
