Man held by IGI customs for smuggling jewellery of Rs 21 lakh

Acting on the intelligence, the customs officers arrested Nirvair Singh, who was carrying silver and gold jewellery, Sony magic gate memory sticks (16gb and 8gb), Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) used in computers and micro card adapters.

Singh, a resident of Kapurthala, Punjab, and holder of Indian passport, arrived at IGI Airport from Hong Kong, a customs official said.

"The total value of the goods amounted to Rs 20.70 lakh. The goods were placed under seizure and the passenger was put under arrest," the official added.
