The accused was upset after the father of the victim turned down his marriage proposal for his daughter, they claimed.
Abrar Majeed Reshu was arrested on the charge of killing Faisal Hussain Misger on September 18 in Alasteng area of the district, a police spokesman said.
During questioning, Reshu confessed to the crime which was corroborated by the circumstantial evidence brought on record, the spokesman claimed.
