A 67-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually abuse a five-year-old girl in the district, police said today.
Kandasamy of Therampalayam, 35 km from here, had lured the girl to his house by offering her chocolates and attempted to sexually abuse her, they said.
The girl managed to escape and ran to her house. She narrated the incident to her parents, who lodged a complaint with All Woman Police Station.
Based on the complaint, Kandasamy was arrested last evening and lodged in the Central Jail here after remanded by a court, police said.
