Man held for 'cyber stalking' woman political worker

The Rachakonda Police today arrested a man for allegedly "cyber-stalking" a woman worker of a political party.

The accused, identified as Mota Durga Prasad, a B.Pharm graduate, was harassing the victim who is a "feminist and active worker of a political party," the police said in a statement.

Prasad allegedly threatened the woman that he would post her private videos and pictures on various social media platforms and will tarnish her image.

The investigation revealed that Prasad bore a grudge again women in general as a girl had earlier refused to accept his proposal, it said.

Police seized a mobile phone and an internet router from the accused.
 

Based on a complaint filed by the woman, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and the IT Act.

The accused was produced before a local court which remanded him in judicial custody.
