Man held for duping

A 28-year-old man was arrested for

allegedly duping a drug store owner of Rs 8 lakh in Sheikh Sarai area.

Rajiv Kumar was arrested and Rs 7.96 lakh recovered from him after a tip off was received about him, according to police.

"Kumar was expelled from a security service firm two months ago. During his tenure, he used to collect money from the owner of the drug store on behalf of the company.

"However, even after being fired from his job, he went to the shop owner and represented himself as an authorised person sent by the company to collect the money," said a police official
 

He then completed the formalities regarding transaction of money and escaped with cash. The fraud came to light when the authorised personnel reached to collect the amount, police said.
