The Cyberabad police has arrested a man from Bangalore for allegedly cheating a woman here on the pretext of marriage and extorting around Rs 6 lakh from her after blackmailing her with her private photographs.
The accused, Sidhanth Raj Shrivastava, working as a manager with a Bangalore-based private firm was apprehended by the cyber crime police from Bangalore on June 13 and produced before a court here which sent him to judicial remand, according to a release issued by Cyberabad police here today.
The accused allegedly demanded money from the victim after blackmailing her with her inappropriate pictures as well as made monetary transactions of Rs 1.5 lakh with her credit cards, besides forcing her to take a personal loan of Rs 3.90 lakh from a private bank which was transferred into his wife's account, the release said.

On May 21, the woman from Gachibowli area here lodged a complaint alleging that one Sidhanth on the pretext of marriage extorted money from her, and also his real marital status.
Investigation revealed that the complainant and the accused worked together at a private firm at Balanagar here from 2010 to 2013, after which the accused moved to Bangalore.
The complainant used to contact him through a social networking website and cellphone after which the accused allegedly promised to marry her.
As requested by the accused, in February this year the complainant went to Bangalore and stayed with the accused.
During her visit, the accused allegedly clicked semi-nude photographs of the woman without her consent and began blackmailing her for Rs 5 lakhs to get the pictures destroyed, the police release said.
