Man held for involvement in a shootout incident in Rajasthan

A 27-year-old man, wanted in a shootout case in Rajasthan's Bharatpur, in which two people were killed, was arrested here, the police said here today.

On the afternoon of July 14, around 60 people carrying weapons, attacked members of another group as they were ploughing fields in Pichoona village of Bharatpur, they said, adding there was a dispute between the two groups over an agricultural land.

In that incident, many rounds were fired in which two people were killed and a some others were injured, the police said.

Yesterday, on learning that one of the accused, Sikandar, was visiting Tughlakabad village, police arrested him, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Romil Baaniya said.
 

A country-made firearm and a cartridge were seized from him, the officer said, adding the accused was residing in J J Colony in Tigri and was involved in bootlegging.

One Babloo, along with Shivlal and Murari asked their associates, including Sikandar, to resolve a property dispute in Bharatpur which led to the shootout incident, the police said.

Sikandar is a relative of Shivlal. Babloo, a resident of Uttam Nagar, was arrested on July 19, they said.
