A man who kidnapped a 10-month old girl child by using an innocent boy for selling it to a couple was arrested and the toddler rescued today near here, police said.
Easwaran had kidnapped the child from her house at Peraiyur on June 9 with the help of a boy who used to play with her.
He had told Gautham that the child was related to him before fleeing the area in his bike with her.
On a complaint from the parents yesterday, police launched a hunt and zeroed in on Easwaran of Saptur and rescued the child.
They were also searching for a woman through whom Easwaran had planned to sell the child.
