Man held for killing paramour in UP

A man was today arrested for allegedly killing his paramour in Noonakheri village here, police said.

The woman, Babita (38), was found shot dead in her house under Titawi police station area on Tuesday, they said.

The accused, Sunil Kumar, was arrested after a case was registered against him. The firearm used in the crime has been seized from his possession, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ajay Sahdev said.

The officer claimed that the accused has confessed to his crime and told police that he was in an illicit relationship with the woman since a long time but when he asked her to leave her husband she refused.
 

Infuriated over her refusal, the accused went to her house and shot her, the SP said.

An investigation was underway in the case, police said.
