Man held for killing wife

A man was arrested for allegedly

killing his wife here, police said today.

The accused, Razak, in an inebriated state hit his wife Asha with a blunt object on Monday night after an altercation with her at their residence in Gandhinagar area of the city following which she died, they said.

Yesterday morning, Razak informed his in-laws about his wife's death.

The victim's parents, however, found injury marks on the body following which they informed the police, who arrested Razak after interrogating him.

Razak, a labourer, and Asha got married about 10 years back against the wishes of their families and have three children.
 

Police said one of the children stated that the accused had beaten up the victim after which she collapsed.
