Man held for making extortion call to govt school teacher

A man was arrested here for allegedly making an extortion call to a government school teacher in Shamli district, police said today.

Banarsi Singh received a phone call from Govinda yesterday, who demanded a sum of Rs 2 lakh and threatened the teacher with dire consequences, police said.

An FIR was registered in Kandhla police station following which the arrest was made, police said.
