A man, who allegedly got his former brother-in-law, a software professional, murdered by hired killers and posted photographs of his body on a social networking site, was today remanded in judicial custody.

Arun Kumar, along with his friends Mohammed Younus Pasha and Madhusudan, who were arrested by S R Nagar Police on charges of abducting and killing Chandrasekhar Goud, were produced before a local court which remanded them in 14 days' judicial custody, police said.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) V Satyanarayana, Kumar's sister Sandhya was married to Goud in 2007 in Chennai, and she divorced him after filing a harassment case.

Goud agreed to return the dowry amount as well as a residential flat at Balanagar here, but failed to keep his promise. He also continuously abused Kumar and his sister when they insisted on return of their property, the DCP said.

"Due to this, Kumar bore a grudge against Goud and decided to eliminate him. He hatched a plan with his friends and offered them Rs 6 lakh," the DCP said.

On December 4, Kumar's friends entered Goud's house here and pressed a handkerchief drenched with spirit and methanol on his nose while he was asleep, due to which became unconscious.

They shifted him to a car and allegedly smothered him on the way to Vikarabad of neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, before they threw his body in the forest area on Kumar's instructions, the officer said.

Later, they photographed his body and sent it to Kumar, who posted it on a social networking site and forwarded it to his sister and others saying it was a "gift", the officer said.
