Man held for possessing ganja

The Goa Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly possessing ganja after conducting a raid in Calangute beach village in North Goa.

Rahul Shah, who originally hails from Dibrugrh in Assam, was apprehended by the Calangute police last evening on a tip-off that he was trying to sell the contraband near the famous beach, Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi said.

Police seized the cannabis weighing 150 grams worth Rs 15, 000 from Shah.

He has been booked under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
