Man held for possessing Mephedrone worth Rs 3.10 lakh

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai police arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly possessing Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 3.10 lakh, from Dongri in south Mumbai, police said today.

Mohd Ejaz Ahmed Usman Supariwala was yesterday arrested for possessing 155 grams of contraband by the team of ANC Worli unit, the police said.

He is a resident of Pathanwadi in Dongri, the official said.

The ANC officials had received a tip-off that one person would be coming to sell narcotics in Dana Bunder area of Dongri following which a trap was laid and the accused was arrested once he reached the spot, said police.
 

"The accused owns a mobile repairing shop in Dongri and we are investigating the source of the drug," senior police inspector Ninad Sawant said.
