The CID in Odisha arrested a person today posting obscene matters in Facebook after opening an account in the name of a woman whom he unsuccessfully tried to marry.
During the course of investigation it was ascertained that Rajaram Biswal (28), a resident of Bhubaneswar, had opened a Facebook account in the name of the woman who had filed a complaint, CID sources said.
A case has been registered against Biswal under sections 294 (obscene act and songs), 354 (criminal offence with intention to outrage modesty), 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-D (stalking), 500 (defamation), 465 (forgery), 469 (harming reputation), 506 (criminal intimidation) and section 66-A and 66-C of Information Technology Act, 2009.
The investigation also revealed that the man had befriended the woman but when she refused to marry him he harassed her and her family members by threatening them with dire consequences.
