Man held for raping mentally challenged woman

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a physically and mentally challenged woman in Dodi village of the district.

The 50-year-old accused was held yesterday for raping the 30-year-old woman on Monday.

Station House Officer (SHO), Dei Police Station, Udham Singh said that the parents of the woman had lodged a complaint that Nevalal Meena had allegedly raped their daughter when she was sleeping in a thatched hut in an agriculture field.

The victim is deaf and dumb and is mentally challenged, the SHO said.
