A man was today arrested near here for allegedly sexually abusing his 12-year old daughter during nights after tying mangal sutra and claiming that she was his second wife.
Police said the girl had been abused for more than six months and man's wife was also too scared to complain to the police as he had threatened to kill her.
Bavan (name changed) had tortured his wife also regularly. The man behaved weirdly in the nights and claimed that his daughter was his second wife.
Alerted by neighbours, the Child Line officials rescued the girl and complained to the Police.
Bavan had been arrested, by the Melur all woman police personnel today.
A case under Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act had been filed, police said.
