Man held for smuggling gold worth Rs 46 lakh at IGIA

A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold bars valuing about Rs 46 lakh at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.

The passenger was intercepted by the customs officials after his arrival on Monday from Bangkok. He was allegedly carrying two gold bars weighing two kilograms and valued at Rs 45.88 lakh, a press release issued today by the customs said.

The accused has been arrested and the gold has been seized, it said.
