A man has been arrested for allegedly strangulating his 25-year-old wife using a cable following an argument in outer Delhi, police said today.

The accused Saddam strangulated his wife Praveen with a cable following an argument on Saturday night at their home in Kamaldar Colony area and later dumped her body near a canal in Bhalswa Dairy in Outer Delhi, they said.

The couple were married for about three years, police said.

Saddam was nabbed by the police yesterday when he returned to the spot to further throw the victim's body in the canal, fearing he could be caught if the remains were found.

During interrogation, Saddam told police that the couple did not share cordial marital relations and used to fight on petty issues.

On Saturday night too, the duo had an argument and in a fit of rage he strangled Praveen, police said adding, a case has been registered and further investigation into the mater is on.
