A man has been apprehended by CISF personnel at the Delhi airport for allegedly using a fake ticket to enter the terminal area, officials said on Tuesday.

Vishal A Singh was apprehended late Monday night as he was found suspiciously roaming in the terminal area and attempting to leave the Terminal-3 (T3) building of the airport, the official said.

The man was stopped and questioned as exiting the terminal area is not allowed under normal circumstances, he said.

He told the CISF personnel that he used a "cancelled" ticket to enter the terminal area to see off his family members who were travelling to Chicago, the official said.

The man had been handed over to the police for registration of a criminal case of trespass against him and further probe.

Entering an airport terminal without a valid ticket is illegal under Indian aviation rules.
