"There exist no reason to disbelieve the testimonies of the son and daughter of the deceased woman that their father / accused had committed the murder of their mother Sheela, as accused always suspected his wife," said Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna, convicting Chirag Delhi resident Joginder Yesu Dass for stabbing his wife Sheela to death last year.
"I am of considered opinion that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubt against the accused and hence Dass is convicted for the offence punishable under section 302 (murder) of the IPC," the court said adding the defence failed to create any doubt in the prosecution story.
The court is likely to pronounce its order on sentencing of the convict later this week.
The court said Dass' children were important witnesses in the case as both of them were the eye witnesses and were present in the room, where the incident happened.
"The prosecution has proved that both the eye witnesses, son and daughter of deceased, saw their father Dass stabbing their mother thrice," it said
According to police, Dass stabbed his wife on May 26 night last year. He gave three knife blows on her chest and abdomen, the police told the court adding she succumbed to her injuries on June 6 last year in hospital during treatment.
Dass had been arrested on May 28 itself.
