Man held in Noida for extortion

A man has been arrested here for allegedly making extortion calls to a local trader demanding Rs 30 lakh from him, police said today.

The accused has been identified as Anil Kumar. He was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Atta village based trader.

The accused was arrested through electronic surveillance, they said.

Anil told police that he knew a person who used to work with the trader and so had knowledge of the financial condition of the trader, police said.

He also confessed to have kidnapped a boy in Faridabad, they said.
