A man has been arrested at the international airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle gold jewellery worth about Rs 25 lakh into the country.
The accused was intercepted by customs officials after his arrival from Dubai yesterday.
"Upon a detailed examination of his baggage, 974.45-gm of gold articles were recovered," according to a customs release today. The value of the seized gold was said to be Rs 25.02 lakh.
