A man was today arrested with a haul of arms and ammunition from a village under Safiabad police station area in Munger district, a police officer said.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided one Mukesh Yadav's house in Halimpur village and nabbed him with a haul of weapons comprising an automatic rifle, a double barrel gun, two pistols, a revolver and seven round of ammunition, Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Singh said.
Yadav has been arrested under the Arms Act, he said.
During interrogation, the accused said that he had stashed these weapons for use during the forthcoming assembly polls in Bihar, the police officer claimed.
