The state Crime Branch has arrested one person with hashish (cannabis) weighing 19 kg from Jamalpur area of the city, police said today.
The price of the contraband is estimated at Rs 19 lakh, they said.
"On a tip-off, a team of city crime branch stopped a red-coloured Hyundai I-10 car late last night at Navi Chali cross road in Jamalpur area and found a huge stock of charas (19 kg) stacked in it. It arrested one Shahnavaz alias Shanu Alamkhan Pathan with the car and seized it," according to a press statement.

"During his interrogation, Pathan confessed that he got the stock of hashish from a 'carrier', which was sent by one Muhammad Ghulamnabi Kullu from Sumbal village in Bandipura district of Jammu and Kashmir," the statement said.
