Man held with live bullets in Delhi Metro

A man from Uttar Pradesh was today held at a Delhi Metro station here for allegedly carrying three live bullets in his baggage.

Officials said the incident was reported at Laxmi Nagar Metro station at 12:40 PM when a person identified as Gaurav Pandey was intercepted by CISF personnel for having three live rounds of 8 mm calibre gun in his bag.

"Pandey, a resident of Ghazipur in UP, was stopped from entering the metro and was handed over to Delhi police for further investigation," they said.

In another incident last evening at the New Delhi station, a man was apprehended for smuggling in a liquor bottle through the non-frisking area of the metro.
 

"When the man, a resident of Chandni chowk, was denied entry by CISF for carrying a liquor bottle with himself he tried to whisk it through the unmanned area of the station. He was caught in the act and the station controller later fined him Rs 200 under provisions of the Delhi Metro Rail Act and was denied further entry," they said.
