A Dhaka-bound Indian man has been apprehended at the airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle over USD 12,000 currency by concealing it in a mobile power bank and a charger, the CISF said today.
On-duty Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel last night intercepted a passenger identified as Sarfar Mohammad, 35, at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI), officials said.
During the x-ray scanning of the baggage of the man, the CISF official detected suspicious images of a mobile charger, power bank and a calculator and hence he was chosen for detailed frisking.

He was travelling to Dhaka, Singh said.
The value of the seized US dollars is over Rs 8.43 lakh, he said.
On Thursday, in a similar case, two passengers bound for Singapore were apprehended at the airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle over one lakh US dollars by concealing them in power adaptors.
