A 46-year-old man was held for allegedly carrying a pistol and over half-a-dozen live bullets in Delhi Metro.

The incident was reported from the Lajpat Nagar Metro station on August 1 when CISF personnel detected a .32 bore pistol, two magazines and seven live rounds in the baggage of Sunder Singh, a resident of Noida, officials said.

He was handed over to Delhi Police as he could not furnish valid documents to support carrying the firearm and ammunition, they said.

"Arms and ammunition are banned inside the mass rapid rail system," officials added.
